Yardwaste is NOT accepted at the landfill. Logansport residents are encouraged to find alternative ways todispose of these items. Among these are mulching of grass clippings and leaves, starting a backyard composting pile, or tilling garden refuse back into the soil. Residents who are not interested in using any of the alternatives may have the Logansport Street Department pick up this debris. It must be placed in a 2-ply, biodegradable, 30-gallon paper bag that may be purchased at several local stores and lumber yards. This is the only approved receptacle. Pickup is on the regular trash day by the Logansport Street Department's yard waste truck. Grass clippings, leaves, or any other type of yard waste will NOT be picked up if put into plastic bags! The Street Department will pick up large amounts of loose brush on the first two working days of each week. Yard waste collection is April 1st through November 30th and is handled on a call-in basis at all other times. If you hire someone to do this type of work at your home, they are also responsible for the removal of the brush. The Logansport Street Department will NOT pick up the brush, it is to be included in the work done by the contractor.
